Tony has been involved in complex, high value professional negligence and commercial litigation of all types for more than 35 years and has worked within specialist practices at a senior level for majority of that time.
Tony acts for corporate and partnership entities and for individuals seeking compensation and redress. He always seeks a pragmatic outcome where possible but fully prepared to litigate and take matters to court when necessary.
Tony has been involved in important cases down the years which have had influence upon developments in the law – Miller v Irwin Mitchell, Morgan v Mace and Jones. He relishes difficult matters which require innovative analysis to find solutions and/or to create persuasive arguments. He has long and successful experience of mediations, arbitrations and joint settlement meetings and has been involved in cases at senior appellate level.
Experience Highlights
Successfully acted in £50m pound solicitors negligence case arising from alleged failure to advise on planning matters. A Wasted costs Order was obtained on behalf of the client as part of the successful outcome.
Acting in a major, multi-million pound property fraud matter involving surveyors and solicitors. Detailed arguments and negotiations throughout the litigation process produced a favourable result for the clients.
Acting in a high-value, high profile insurance insolvency dispute. An excellent outcome at mediation was secured thus avoiding the expense of litigation.
