Roxtree Advisory Scam – How It Operates and Key Red Flags

Roxtree Advisory positions itself as a premium investment and advisory service, often promoting high-return opportunities in cryptocurrency and forex markets. However, multiple investigations and victim reports confirm that it is an unlicensed, high-risk entity operating outside any recognised regulatory framework.

How the scam typically starts

  • Victims are initially approached via social media or messaging apps (e.g WhatsApp or Telegram) by individuals claiming to represent reputable firms. As a general rule of thumb, any company or individual who reaches out to you via WhatsApp or Telegram offering a trading opportunity or advice is a scammer. No legitimate entity would ever need to use an encrypted messaging app to contact you.
  • Early investments may appear successful, with fabricated dashboards showing profits or even allowing small withdrawal to build trust.
  • Victims are then introduced to “exclusive” opportunities such as Security Token Offerings (STOs), often linked to platforms like FINXTRACT STO.

Note: for the sake of this article, FINXTRACT STO is used as the example platform, although is important to note that the platforms used to facilitate the Roxtree scam are known to vary and is not restricted to FINXTRACT exclusively.

FINXTRACT STO:

FINXTRACT STO claims to offer tokenisation of real-world assets and AI-driven trading, but independent reviews rank it as high-risk with trust score as low as 18/100. Indicators include:

  • Domain age under 3 months
  • Hidden ownership details
  • Association with suspicious servers
  • Unrealistic promised of guaranteed returns.

Victims report being pressured to stake large amounts of Ethereum to validate nodes, with threats that tokens would be lost if additional funds were not provided.

How Roxtree Advisory and FINXTRACT (and other fraudulent investment platforms) work together:

The Roxtree Advisory scam is not an isolated operation- it is part of a coordinated scheme involving the FINXTRACT platform, amongst others. Understanding this link is crucial for recognising the depth of the fraud.

Roxtree Advisory acts as the entry point for victims. Its representatives present themselves as professional investment advisors. They build trust through:

  • Initial small trades that appear profitable
  • Polished communication and fabricated credentials
  • Promised of exclusive, high-return opportunities.

Once confidence is established, Roxtree introduces the investor to the FINXTRACT STO programme, claiming it is a legitimate, cutting-edge crypto investment.

FINXTRACT operates as the platform where the supposed investment occurs. Victims are directed to finxtractsto.com, which:

  • Displays a professional interface and issues “investment agreements”
  • Allocated FINX token to investor wallets
  • Imposes escalating requirements (e.g staking 32 ETH, then 64 ETH) under the guise of “node validation” and “security protocols”.

These create the illusion of a structured blockchain investment, but in reality, they are designed to trap funds and block withdrawals.

The connection between Roxtree and FINXTRACT is evidence in their shared tactics:

  • Joint communication strategy: Roxtree advisors guide victims through FINXTRACT’s processes, reinforcing legitimacy.
  • Fabricated documentation: Both entities provide fake agreements, insurance certificated and compliance paperwork.
  • Pressure escalation: When victims hesitate, Roxtree advisors apply emotional and financial pressure, citing FINXTRACT’s “protocol requirements”.

This is important as this layered approach makes the scam hard to detect:

  • Roxtree builds the trust and funnels victims into the scheme.
  • FONXTRACT provides the technical façade to justify escalating demands.
  • Both work together to maximise financial extraction while minimising accountability.

Regulatory warnings:

Alberta Securities Commission and FINMA (Switzerland) have flagged Roxtree Advisory as an unregistered/unlicensed entity, warning investors to exercise extreme caution.

Key red flags:

  • No regulatory licence: Roxtree Advisory provides no verifiable licence details. Legitimate brokers will always display clear regulatory credentials (FCA, SEC, ASIC, CySEC).
  • Unrealistic returns & pressure tactics: Promises of rapid, guaranteed profits (e.g “double your investment in one months”), along with emotional manipulation and creating a sense of immediate urgency are classic scam tactics.
  • Opaque operations: no physical address verification, hidden WHOIS data and vague or missing terms and conditions are also classic hallmarks of a scam that are displayed.
  • Withdrawal blockages: victims report being unable to withdraw funds unless they pay additional fees or meet arbitrary conditions (e.g staking more ETH). No legitimate company would ever ask you for fees in order to access your own funds. Any company or person who does so is a scammer.
  • Fake documentation: use of fabricated “investment agreements” and “insurance certificated” are used to a create a false sense of legitimacy.
  • TrustPilot reviews: Roxtree Advisory’s Trustpilot score is extremely low (1.9/5), with multiple reports of fraud and ghosting after deposits.

These characteristics align with broader patterns identified in the typical scams that we deal with on a daily basis here at WRS. These red flags, along with the warning issued by multiple regulators make it very clear that Roxtree and its associated entities are not operating legitimately.

If you have lost funds via the Roxtree Advisory, FINXTRACT, or any platforms that display similar characteristics, please contact WRS for a free consultation.
